New integration enables journals to easily implement AI Editorial support tools in any publishing platform
Automating editorial checks with DataSeer SnapShot is now simpler than ever, thanks to a new partnership with TaskAdept. The agreement integrates SnapShot – a leading AI-powered editorial screening technology – with TaskAdept’s highly adaptable Carina Workflow Assist platform, enabling journals to instantly deploy SnapShot regardless of which manuscript management platform they use.
When a manuscript is submitted, resubmitted, or revised, Workflow Assist gathers the manuscript metadata and files then passes them to DataSeer Snapshot for analysis.
SnapShot evaluates the manuscript and supplemental files for a range of common editorial checklist criteria – such as data sharing, figure ordering & completeness, missing sections, or fake references – and returns a simple summary of what (if anything) the authors need to do, along with a draft of the sendback email.
Carina Workflow Assist integrates seamlessly with any web-based manuscript management platform, allowing journals to define how the system responds when compliance issues are identified. For example, Workflow Assist can automatically:
- Add notes to a manuscript record for Editors or journal staff
- Add or remove issue-specific manuscript flags
- Alert journal staff to specific compliance issues via email or comprehensive reporting
This integration transforms SnapShot from a diagnostic tool into an operational component of the editorial process – without the need for journal staff to learn a new system or workflow.
